Reputation Profiling

The reputation of a network is critical for business performance and subscriber trust. In many instances however, the most damaging attack to a network’s reputation can be the behaviour of the subscribers themselves, placing the quality of experience for the entire subscriber base at risk.

The actions of a small subset of users, in many cases without conscious intent, can result in the IP or SS7 reputation of an operator being significantly damaged. For example, less than 100 spambots within a network sending spam via webmail, SMTP or through social networking accounts can result in the majority of legitimate subscribers' email being rejected. A declining reputation may go unnoticed for months until it reaches the tipping point where the majority of Public IP addresses are not trusted and external networks start rejecting messages, leading to all outbound email being rejected if not resolved.

The AdaptiveMobile Network+ Protection Platform (NPP+) allows an operator to monitor in real time its own external reputation, and that of each subscriber in order to minimise the risk of IP blacklisting and provides instant alerts when there is a reputation change, enabling an immediate and targeted response.

The reputation of your network for SMS can be similarly polluted by devices on your network generating SMS spam and frauds delivered to other operators impacting your revenue.
