Premium Content Protection
Mobile Operators and converged networks continue to develop their business strategies and increase the value of their network by connecting consumers with content and application providers through trusted, managed services that allow secure monetization of digital information and apps. To protect and grow this marketplace, an operator needs to ensure that both consumers and vendors are able to complete transactions in a trusted manner. It is essential that vendors can rely on the accurate collection of payments and management of refunds, and consumers are confident that they are able to make purchases safely; that their content will be delivered, that they are protected from unwanted charges, and have control over subsequent updates.
The AdaptiveMobile Network+ Protection Platform (NPP+) allows an operator to establish the trading rules between buyers and sellers, and police their individual behaviour to ensure the mobile marketplace maintains the trust of all participants. This may include:
- Enforcing guidelines on message content and notification process for advertising messages or premium rate purchases
- Enforcing age related restrictions on content purchases
- Offering individual subscribers the option of confirmation notifications prior to premium rate payments, and individual control over the number of subsequent automatic purchases from content vendors
- Providing visibility to both purchaser and sender of the purchase and delivery process to reduce fraudulent non delivery claims and credit rebates
- Preventing unsolicited bulk messaging from other networks to protect the margins and revenue for the operator, and to enhance the value of the network to the merchant
- Provide merchants with surety on the identity and validity of the subscriber, while preserving their anonymity in transactions
- Shield a subscriber from rogue apps, obtaining authorisation for premium rate spend
