CURRENT VACANCIES
 
Support Engineer
Responsible for ensuring all CSRs are tracked, addressed, directed to the appropriate area and followed through to closure. Ideally have a Computer Science Degree, having worked in a Mobile Telecoms Environment Support role. Good understanding of Mobile Data Telecoms systems, (GPRS, UMTS, MMS, IP etc) would be a major advantage. Knowledge of the following is deemed essential:
  • GPRS,
  • UMTS,
  • MMS,
  • TCP/IP
  • Unix/Linux,
Also it would be an advantage to have knowledge for at least two of the following:
  • Databases (MySQL/Oracle),
  • HTML,
  • XML,
  • Java,
  • C++
Maintenance and updating of support documentation. Able to function as 1st and/or 2nd Line Support Ability to react quickly to problems both working with a team to resolve within agreed SLA. Specific requirements include:
  • Oracle/MySQL.
  • Sun Solaris
  • Unix/Linux (RedHat)
  • Load balancing (Big-IP)
  • Windows Scripting
 
 
Support and Implementation Engineer
Some key tasks/responsibilities involve:
  • Installation, set-up and configuration of Customers System in the test network
  • Integration of system in test network
  • Running UTA in Test System and achieving sign-off
  • Installation, set-up and configuration of filtering system in live network
  • Integration of system in to live system
  • Running of Acceptance Testing in Live Network and achieving sign-off
  • Providing expert and in depth 2nd & 3rd line technical support to resolve issues in Customer networks

  • Knowledge of Mobile Telecoms networks covering GSM, GPRS and UMTS
  • Experience in system implementation/integration within Mobile Networks
  • Unix/Linux system administration
  • DBA – Oracle/MySQL
  • Experience in System Application Testing
  • TCP/IP, routing, switching
  • Understanding of Mobile Data Application layer (MMS, SMS, Voice, Web/WAP etc.)
Also knowledge of the following technologies would be looked upon favourably:
  • HTML
  • XML
  • Java
  • C++
  • Experience in system implementation in an mobile environment
  • Technical understanding of mobile telecoms messaging systems i.e. Web/WAP/MMS;
  • An understanding of handling SW in a production environment;
  • Experience in System Acceptance Testing.
  • Load balancing (e.g. Big-IP, Alteon, Zeus)
  • Windows Scripting

Solution Architect
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
  • Manage, design and review proposed technical architectures for clients and report on their suitability to meet target service levels and service delivery costs
  • Lead the architect engagement with clients in the design of complex technical solutions involving multi-vendor environments
  • Analyse client technology & processes and recommend optimisation and good practice improvements
  • Assist in the development of the clients technology strategy in conjunction with the client
  • Design and review of technical security and operational solutions to ensure that the standard tools provide a solution for all operational requirements
  • Influence proposed technical designs
  • Perform Due Diligence on proposed designs, identifying potential issues with the execution and operational architectures and recommend possible options
  • Provide technical skills related to the tools and standards toclients
  • Provide domains with information about global standards
  Technical Design Authority for Clients:
  • Perform reviews and quality assurance of design work for their clients
  • Perform impact analysis of proposed major changes to the technology landscape of customer systems
  • Perform analysis and synthesis of technical environments identifying potential problem areas and fixes
  • Carry-out reviews of any major incident reports and output of the problem management process, and provide suggestions for improvements
The ideal candidate will have strong mobile telecoms date experience with two or more of the following: clusters, Disaster Recovery planning, boot from SAN, security considerations, data centre planning, performance tuning, backup strategies, monitoring.   In addition to this:
  • Strong Unix (any vendor)skills OR Linux
  • Networks (any vendor) skills
  As an experienced Technical Architect, have:
  • Experience of developing and managing architecture design work as part of a client engagement team including experience of developing and managing other architects work
  • Experience of managing and performing critical analysis of technology and associated processes, with a view to recommending strategies that will improve service, lower costs and prevent unforeseen operational issues.
  • Capable of developing and managing architecture work performed by other architects for a client
  • Excellent communication and client facing skills including good presentation skills
  • The role also requires the person to act as a technical lead to support & direct technical project staff during the implementation of a solution.
  • Proven experience in designing technical architecture solutions for clients in a client facing role
  • Experience of troubleshooting & problem analysis
  • Ability to define and scope major projects
  • Product selection and comparison skills
  • Creation of business case and cost models

  • Maintains up to date knowledge of technologies and their uses. Understands current trends in the market.

Qualifications: Ideally the candidate should hold a related computer science degree Principal Responsibilities:   The Solution Architect (SA) will ensure that the design team understands all the product, functional, non-functional, operational requirements and is accountable for developing an agreed end to end solution architecture strategy & blueprint   Candidate Profile:   Proven experience inMobile Telecom Data/IT/Security domains Demonstrable and recent track record in Product Development within a Carrier, large multi-vendor telecommunications or IT environment Working knowledge of formal requirements capture methodologies Experience of developing and introducing change into an operational environment Experience of working on projects that span multi-disciplinary areas and at least covering Networking & IT areas. Understanding and experience of automated operational environments Understanding and active participation in vendor selection and procurement processes Knowledge of standards/reference bodies and their work e.g. TMForum, ITU-T, ITIL

Senior Java/Database Developer
  
We are looking for an expeirenced JAVA DEVELOPER with strong DATABASE DESIGN and DEVELOPMENT skills.  You will be working on the server, client and middleware components using the best technologies to solve the problems that are presented.  The successful candidate must have a genuine interest in learning new technologies and a demonstrated history of understanding and contributing to the total end-to-end solution.  Good design and performance tuning skills are essential.
 
 Required Skills/Experience:
  • Degree in Technology
  • 5+ years technical experience
  • Experience designing and developing back-end database structures from a logical or application-oriented perspective to ensure that future reporting capabilities and report development efforts correlate with the defined functional, performance and operational requirements
  •  ‘Hands-on’ database development experience–  PL/SQL, triggers, stored procedures, data load solutions etc
  • Experience in database technologies such as Oracle, OLAP and MYSQL essential
  • 3 years Java/J2EE development experience (Spring, JPA, Hibernate, JMS, JSP, Jetty, Struts, XML/SOAP, Web Services etc)
  • Experience with Unix, Perl, Python and/or other scripting language
  • Hands-on experience with common developer tools (Ant, Eclipse, SVN etc.)
  • Test driven development
  • Experience developing commercial enterprise transactional and reporting solutions required
  • Experience with SUN Solaris and/or Linux environments
  • Telecommunications industry a plus but not essential 
 
Senior J2EE Developer

We are looking for a
J2EE DEVELOPER with 3-5 years experience in developing J2EE software solutions.
