Mobile operators are looking for MMS, SMS and email retention services and logging of browsing activity to meet regulatory requirements without the complexity of traditional Lawful Intercept (LI) platforms, and to provide archiving services for corporate customers.
In many countries, operators are being required to maintain archives of subscribers’ data traffic for access under national security legislation.
In addition, the growth of legislation to enforce corporate governance and industry-specific risk management such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, HIPPA and BASEL-II means corporate customers need services to archive messages and communications for their mobile devices, to match the level of archiving and inspection that is in place on the corporate’s fixed network; and are willing to purchase these services from mobile operators.
